Beautification at Manassas City Shelter

Fall is for planting! The Prince William SPCA recently sponsored a beautification project at the City of Manassas Animal Control and Shelter. Invasive plants and weeds were removed from the entrance area, creating the perfect canvas for new plants. An amazing 75 native plants were added, including Inkberry, Great Blue Lobelia, Blazing Star, Butterfly Weed, Calico Beardtongue and more! The space around the entrance, bench, and Little Free Library is now tidy and ready to welcome families who want to adopt a new pet. We can’t wait to see how this area fills in over the next few years. Not only is it more inviting to visitors of the Center, but also helps wildlife, pollinators, and the local ecosystem.

Special thanks to Bee American, Plant Native LLC for managing the project.
