Free Spay/Neuter Program Launches

Anicira Veterinary Center and Prince William SPCA are partnering to help Prince William County residents spay and neuter their pets. Through the joint initiative, dogs and cats of qualifying residents will be spayed and neutered at no cost, paid for by the Prince William SPCA.  The microchip, rabies, and combo vaccine will be provided by Anicira at no cost.

“We are excited to announce that the Prince William SPCA and Anicira will have a new partnership which promises to make a positive impact on the lives of pets and the families who love them,” said Cate Lemmond, Anicira’s President and CEO. “This collaboration has been designed with the intent to provide essential veterinary services and support for families facing challenges and to enhance the overall well-being of their pets.”

“The Prince William SPCA is continuing our long history of working with Anicira on programs that benefit companion animals in our community,” says Prince William SPCA President Melissa Korzuch. She continues, “We are looking forward to providing low-income families with spay/neuter assistance.  This will help keep their animals healthy and avoid unplanned litters of kittens and puppies.  The program will also assist in reducing the number of animals that end up in the shelters, which is a win for the community.”

This collaborative initiative highlights the shared dedication of both Prince William SPCA and Anicira towards advancing animal welfare, fostering stronger bonds between families and their pets, and nurturing a more compassionate community for both animals and their human companions.

To be eligible for this program, participants must be residents of Prince William County, Manassas City, or Manassas Park, with an income that falls at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Additionally, those who qualify for government assistance programs such as SNAP or Medicaid are also eligible to participate. To make an appointment, call the clinic at (571) 208-0199.

In conjunction with the introduction of this spay/neuter initiative, Anicira is pleased to announce the extension of our established Pit Fix program’s geographical area to include residents of Prince William County. The Pit Fix program is designed to address the disproportionate number of American Pit Bull Terriers and mixes in local animal shelters, by offering affordable spay/neuter surgeries at a fee of $40. This expansion represents an effort to offer a comprehensive solution to the overrepresentation of American Pit Bull Terriers across Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.
